[Note: God gets me to use a random generator online for words, phrases, etc. that He uses to direct me to different topics. While my conversations with God are able to flow MUCH better than they used to (because God has granted me many victories over the demons that torment me), I still have some glaring limitations when it comes to talking with God.]
Random words: Retreat and reckless…
Me:What even??
God: Think about it.
Me: Retreat as in run away?
God: No.
Me: As in a get away?
God: Yes.
Me: And it’s going to seem reckless?
God: It is to everyone but...
Me: Me?
God: That’s one of them.
Me: You and benevolent beings on your side?
God: Yes, and?
Me: The people that I meet while on vacation?
God: Yes, Jonathan!
Me: By myself?
God: Yes.
Me: Is it going to be a roadtrip?
God: Yes!
Me: On a seven day off period?
[Note: The job that I’ve applied for has a three day work week with twelve hours each day. There are two teams that work on alternate days, making it possible to either have one, four, or seven days off respectively before there’s another three days on. It’s a really good schedule, and a big part of me is looking forward to going back to work.]
God: Yup!!!
Me: After I’ve paid off the car?
God: Not going to answer that.
Me: Ok. About when should I leave in your opinion?
God: It’ll be about 5 months after you start working at Madix.
Me: Ok! I hope I can start soon then.
God: It’ll happen when it’s supposed to. Don’t wish away this free time. You won’t have free time like this for a pretty long while.
Me: What do you think I should do with the free time that I have?
Not gonna work?
God: Not like that…
Me: Would you think that I should publish the journal?
[Note: As stated before, God allows certain hard things to happen to me. Many of those have to do with oppression from demons. I don’t know exactly what to call it, but in this case, the demons mess with how I am able to communicate with God. If I ask direct questions (e.g. Should I wear my “ask and I’ll pray for you” shirt today?), I’ll usually get silence or a misleading answer, but sometimes I get the answer that God actually wants to give me. So I have to ask opinion based questions (e.g. Do you think I should wear my “ask and I’ll pray for you” shirt today?). Also, open ended questions, even when they’re asked in the form of an opinion question (e.g. What do you think I should do with the free time that I have?), don’t work. I have to guess like I did above. Oftentimes I am directed through images or nudges to the right thing to ask, but not always. ]
God: Absolutely, and soon!
Me: You’re getting me to think of “We have staff for that,” a line from a movie I watched with Mom.
God: Yes, I am.
Me: That guy at Heritage Day. He wanted to print my shirts for me.
God: He did. Once you get to work at Madix…
Me: Would you say that I need to have some merch made?
[Note: Sometimes, God starts a sentence like He did above, expecting me to supply the rest of it in the way I just did. Sometimes I have to guess multiple times, but I usually get to an approximation of what God was wanting to say. It can be quite annoying having to do it this way, but I’m just glad I can talk to Him.]
God: I would say that.
Me: Would you think that I should shop around for people to make my shirts?
God: That or buy the stuff to make them. That’ll be once you move though.
Me: That actually sounds fun.
God: It will be. You’ll like it a lot!!! It’ll be a more legitimate version of making stuff out of duck tape.
Me: I was pretty good at that.
God: You were, especially for your age. That small purse that you made for Amber was my favorite. You did such a good job.
Me: Thank you so much… You’re not going to tell me who you are?
God: No, you don’t need that right now, man… You need to get used to talking to us like this. We’ll tell you sometimes, but not like before. Ok?
Me: Ok. I understand.
God: I want you to get a random word and two random phrases from randomwordgenerator.com ok?
Me: Ok.
Random word: Glasses
Random Phrase: Quality Time
Meaning: Spending time with another to strengthen the relationship.
Other Random Phrase: A Cold Day in July
Meaning: Something that is highly unlikely to happen.
Me: Would you say this has to do with the promise that you gave me that I would someday be able to see without my glasses?
God: I would.
Me: Would you say the quality time has to do with prayer and the meditations that you have me do?
God: I would!
Me: Hmmm… Would you say it’s impossible without you, but it’s going to happen this coming July?
God: I would! Not in July necessarily, but it’s coming, my friend.
I just told you to go downstairs and get one of the fortune cookies I got you to buy.
Me: Yeah. Want me to open it?
God: In a minute.
Me: Wait… would you say I should open it?
God: Yes! I would!
“A time of inner peace and reflection is in your future.”
God: Close your eyes and tell me what you sense and see.
Me: I’m meditating, but I don’t see anything yet.
God: Keep on. Just be patient.
Me: Ok. Target, like the store. I see Crumbl cookie company. I see TJ Maxx. This is in Oxford at the exchange.
God: Yes. Keep going.
Me: Bestbuy, firehouse subs, Home Depot, the creepy camera that Home Depot uses to take a picture of your license plate and send you ads even if you didn’t buy anything… Hmmm…. I guess it would have to be located at the entrance to the parking lot to be able to get everyone’s license plate. Big brother? I’m getting, “It’s starting.”. I know you’re going to make everything alright in the end, but I’m guessing there are going to be some pretty hard times..
God: Yes
Me: Would you say that I need to stop meditating?
God: I would say that. Quick side note, I don’t want you worrying about capitalizing the pronouns that refer to me in these conversations. It takes faaaaar too long to go back and do that. I know you respect me, so spend your time on more important things.
Me: Ok. That really will make things easier.
God: You know by now that I’m not all about easy, but in this case, it just makes sense.
Me: Got it. Can we talk about the meditation?
God: Yes.
Me: You just now had me thinking about the time that Mom sent me for over-ripe bananas so that we could make banana bread and the guy working there said I could have as many as I could get in a bag for $1, and he ended up getting in trouble, because that wasn’t the price. I got to buy them for that price though.
God: Yes.
Me: What am I supposed to get from that? Hmm… This is about something being over-ripe.
God: Yeah, Jonathan. It is…
Me: The judgment of the world?
God: Yes, Jonathan. It’s very close to time.
Me: Would you say we’re talking months?
God: No, a few short years.
Me: You’re going to guide me to the best use of my time until then, right?
God: Right.
Me: What about the ones who aren’t ready?
God: We need to make them ready.
Me: How?
God: These conversations for one. Many people will be able to look past what “their mind” a.k.a. the enemy is telling them about you, that you’re crazy or that every little thing doesn’t line up in what we say together. Many people will not. Someday what you and I say here will be confirmed with miracles, but--
Me: You’re leading me to ask something… would you say you want to see who will believe before there’s confirmation?
God: I would say that, yes.
Me: You’re bringing to my memory the time that Jesus told the crowds that were just following Him for the free food, He told them that if anyone were to really want to follow Him, they would have to eat His flesh and drink His blood, and then a lot of His followers were offended and didn’t follow Him anymore (John 6:26-71). You’re bringing to my mind that these people had seen notable miracles from Jesus. They had confirmation in their minds that he was sent from God, but not so much confirmation in their minds that He was the Messiah. Jesus gave opportunities for people to not believe so that the ones who truly wanted to follow Him would follow Him, but the ones who were in it for the wrong reasons would leave.
God: Yes. Keep going.
Me: You also led me to Luke 9:57-62, where various people who are either asked to follow Jesus or who say they want to follow Jesus tell Him that they have to do one thing or another, seemingly reasonable things to ask Jesus to wait for them to do, but Jesus tells them that they can’t do those things and still follow Him.
God: Right. What does this tell you?
Me: That nothing is more important than following Jesus.
God: Well, yes, but not what I was going for. Try again.
Me: Jesus purposefully asked people to do things and not do things that would make most people question His sanity and question if He actually wanted any followers at all. He told people that they must eat His body and drink His blood, and He told one person in Luke 9 that he couldn’t bury his father before following him, and the other one that he couldn’t even say bye to his family. He indicated in Luke 9:57-58 to the person who said he wanted to follow Him that it would be very hard, that He didn’t even have a place to sleep. It naturally follows that his followers wouldn’t either. It’s almost like Jesus didn’t want those people to follow Him.
God: That’s not exactly it. Jesus knew their hearts, that at that point they couldn’t take what He was dishing out. Many MANY of the people who stopped following Him because of things like these started following Him after His resurrection. But they weren’t able to say that they were followers of Jesus from the beginning, and they weren’t able to have the close relationship with Jesus on earth like the faithful ones who stayed. They were left with regrets that stayed with them until they died. Some never came to Jesus. They never followed Him again, even after there was more proof that He was the Christ.
Me: How does this tie in to what you were talking about? That what you and I say here will someday be confirmed with miracles?
God: There’s something to be said about somebody who believes before they’ve been given absolute proof. Thomas wasn’t loved less by us because he needed solid evidence of Jesus’ resurrection, but Jesus did bless the ones who would believe without seeing (John 20:29). The ones who will believe that these conversations are you and I actually talking without seeing the miracles that will come later will be blessed. I’m not saying it’ll be easy for people to believe, I’m just saying that they’ll be blessed if they actually do. Come back and finish this later. I have a little more I want to share in this post.

Me: You got me to get another fortune cookie. This one says, “Bend the rod when it is still hot.”. I looked it up and it said it was “a variant of the idiom ‘strike while the iron is hot,’ meaning to seize an opportunity immediately while favorable conditions exist, before they pass.” Is this talking about people believing that these conversations are actually you and I talking, not just a crazy guy talking to himself, before the miracles come?
God: It is.
Me: It’s time to end this one isn’t it?
God: It is, but I want you to start the next one pretty much right away. You and I can talk off and on throughout the day and into tomorrow and you can post it tomorrow.
Me: Ok. I’ll talk to you then then.
God: Ha! I’ll talk to you then then.

Hey, I'm Jonathan...
I started blogging in October 2026 about my conversations with God. They (the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) have been talking with me since August 2024 when they began a season of isolation and poverty focused on growth and healing that I'm still in. There have been really hard times where They allowed the enemy to affect me in a big way, and I'm sure there will be more, but I've come to a place where I'm at peace with that. I believe God will restore to me all I've lost and then some. After all, Jesus is going to make us who love Him kings and I can only assume queens (Rev. 5:10), putting the past of suffering and lack behind us. Join me as I share conversations that I have with God meant specifically to help you.
