Me: Hey. Sorry I couldn’t get more done…
God: You didn’t get everything done, but you did good on what you did.
Me: There’s just so much to do, and I get distracted so easily.
God: It’s not always going to be like that.
Me: I think I knew that. I’m just ready to really be able to be productive when I need to be.
God: I know. Let’s talk about something else.
Me: Ok. I got bit by a dog yesterday.
God: Heh! You did! I’m proud of you!
Me: If this is going in the blog, we’re going to have to explain that.
God: Yeah, that would be helpful!
Me: I don’t have a job or a car right now. I’ve been living with my parents for going on 2 ½ years since my wife and I separated following… How do I say this?
God: You’re not going to give every detail that’s happened in the past 2+ years. Let’s just give them a quick rundown. I started talking to you on August 4th, 2024. I told you to quit your job on the morning of August 6th, and you reluctantly did it. You didn’t know it then, but you were also being demonically attacked.
Me: Are we going to tell them why you allowed it?
God: You don’t even know all the reasons why We allowed it. Let’s just say that there are good reasons, among which are your refinement and growth.
Me: I gotcha. After I quit my job a little after midnight, our boss called my wife.
God: Let’s skip a bit. The demons addled your mind and you ended up being admitted to a hospital for mental problems.
Me: Not a fun time, but you were with me too. I just couldn’t decipher what was You and what was them.
God: You were being manipulated into thinking that I was the only one speaking to you. You were protected, though.
Me: Thank you for that, God.
God: You're welcome. There are things that I intentionally want you to leave out. This is bare bones. You can tell the actual story someday, just not today.
Me: There are so many reasons I believed that you were in what was going on. So much happened at that hospital that is unexplainable without You being the explanation.
God: Let’s leave it at that then. You got out of the hospital and stayed with your brother for a while and then your sister.
Me: Then my other brother came to get me to take me to my parents’ house.
God: You have a very caring family, Jonathan.
Me: I do. Thank you for giving them to me.
God: You’ve needed the people that I’ve put in your life. I’ve used them to help shape you into who I want you to be.
Me: Again, thank you.
God: Yes, let’s keep going. It’s late, and you’re getting sleepy.
Me: Ok, yeah. I am sleepy. Ok, so I got to my parents and almost immediately went to work at the factory where I used to work when Alicia and I first got married.
God: You wanted to impress her with your financial stability, but what she really wanted was your mental stability. She felt unsafe because of your mental state. That’s the biggest reason she separated from you.
Me: I miss her.
God: I know.
Me: I miss my boys, too.
God: Things aren’t always going to be as they are. Quickly tell the rest.
Me: I worked there for about a half a year and I’m still a little unclear. Was it actually you that told me to quit that job.
God: I did. I told you that you had another job, which was true. I wanted you to work full time on healing, recovery, and growth. You really have grown a lot. There’s more that happened, but that’s a story for another day. Go back to where we started this story.
Me: I don’t have a job or a car and my dad was at work yesterday. You told me the night before that you wanted me to walk to town with my new shirt that says, “If you’re going through something hard right now, Just Ask and I’ll pray for you.” I walked up the road going to town and there was a very aggressive dog. I’ve always been afraid of getting bit by a dog. That’s one of the only fears that stayed after I was baptized. Anyway, the dog ran up to me barking and pulled at the heel of my pants. You told me to stay calm and got me to keep walking and the dog lost interest. You had me pray for some people in town and then when it was time to go home, I asked if I could call my brother to pick me up. You said to keep walking, that you’d take care of things basically. It was more a feeling than actual words, but anyway… I got back to where the dog was and the lady who owns the dog, well actually she said it was her cousin’s or something, the lady said that she’d walk with me so the dog would hopefully leave me alone. It didn’t and, in fact, was MORE aggressive because she was there. He thought he needed to protect her, I guess. The dog bit my leg and ripped my pants, and it actually wasn’t that bad! I don’t know if I’m totally cured of my fear of dogs, but this is definitely a win.
God: It is! This may not seem like much to most people, but you faced your fears.
Me: With you beside me.
God: True. I was with you.
Me: Thank you so much for helping me through that.
God: You’re welcome, my friend.
Me: I like it when You call me Your friend.
God: You are my friend, Jonathan.
Me: It still feels so unreal sometimes.
God: I know, but it is real, so get used to it. :) You need to go to bed.
Me: Ok. Goodnight, God.
God: Goodnight, Jonathan.

Hey, I'm Jonathan...
I started blogging in October 2026 about my conversations with God. They (the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) have been talking with me since August 2024 when they began a season of isolation and poverty focused on growth and healing that I'm still in. There have been really hard times where They allowed the enemy to affect me in a big way, and I'm sure there will be more, but I've come to a place where I'm at peace with that. I believe God will restore to me all I've lost and then some. After all, Jesus is going to make us who love Him kings and I can only assume queens (Rev. 5:10), putting the past of suffering and lack behind us. Join me as I share conversations that I have with God meant specifically to help you.
